2019 Youth Summer Programs

Denali State Park Adventure – June 27


All-day event, two activities:

  • Curry Ridge Hike (Alaska Nature Guides) – A 6-mile hike from forest to tundra with panoramic views of the Alaska Range and glaciers.
  • Byers Lake Kayak Tour (Denali Southside River Guides) – See the beauty of Byers Lake as you glide through tranquil waters on single or tandem sit-on-top kayaks. Easy paddle instruction provided. Watch for resident trumpeter swans and loons. Paddle over pools of spawning salmon. Look for the bears and eagles that come to feed on them. Breathtaking views of Denali and the Alaska Mountain Range. New or experienced kayakers welcome.  Boats are very stable and easy to maneuver. This is an active trip.

*Rain gear and rubber boots required. Open to grades 6 – 9.

Susitna River & Canopy Adventure – July 11

All-day event, two activities:

  • Wilderness Excursion (Mahay’s Jet Boat Adventures) – A 20-mile jet boat trip on the Susitna River with views of the Denali and Alaska Range.
  • Canopy Adventure (Denali Zipline Tours) – After completing “zipline ground school,” explore the northern boreal forest with a 3-hour zipline tour.

*Rain gear and rubber boots required. Open to grades 6 – 9.

Chulitna River Adventure – July 18

All-day event, one activity:

  • Chulitna River Raft Trip (Talkeetna River Guides) – Raft through the wild-lands with views of Denali, the Alaska Range, and pristine habitat for bald eagle, bear and moose populations.

*Rain gear and rubber boots required. Open to grades 6 – 9.
