We are in the process of moving all of our information to the new site. See you there!

***********************************************************

There have been a variety of classes held since the Folk School opened in August 2011.  Basic Oil Painting, Building a Masonry Heater, Antler Basket Weaving, and Dyeing with Indigo were some of the offerings.  Classes were attended by locals, visiting family members, folks from Wasilla, Anchorage, and Denali.

We’re in the process of creating the 2012 schedule.  So far we’ve got classes in basket making, carving, beer making, quilting, tanning hides, making canoe paddles…..

If you’ve got ideas for classes or something you’d like to teach, contact us by email or call (907) 733-7111. The vision for the Alaska Folk School is to create vibrant educational opportunities, with something for everyone.
